About Lykos
Our love affair with the Groenendael began in 1988 with the arrival of my first black beauty 'Tosca'. Purely a pet, it was through her my interest in this remarkable breed grew and in 1989 I acquired my first 'show' dog. 'Ben' was my once in a lifetime boy, beautiful and gentle in spirit, body and mind - we learned together! He was followed by the irrepressible 'Jai', and then by his outgoing son 'Josh', the bold 'Gabe' became the next challenge, and finally, after much heartbreak, our first homebred puppy,'Lowri' - a very special little girl. 'Dante' has a happy carefree character and has just blown us away with his outstanding type. We are also the proud co-owner of his daughter 'Halle' who will take some time to mature, and now his little brother 'Rush' has come to join us life is sure to be much more interesting!
Jude Hearson (Jumasue) is a woman on a mission - to 'convert' me to the 'red ones' - gotta love her for trying!
All our dogs live as family pets and are loved as such.
Type, character and health are of utmost importance to the Lykos kennel and we have been fortunate that all of our dogs possess these qualities and indeed are known in the U.K. for having 'attitude'. Their type is self-evident, all have been eye-tested clear for hereditary cataract, have good hip-scores, and we carefully research pedigrees to attempt to steer clear of known or suspect lines with regard to epilepsy. However this depends largely on breeders honesty!

For the curious amongst you who want to know a little about me - I have been actively involved in the Northern Belgian Shepherd Dog Club. I have been 'Acting' Chairman, Show Secretary, and general all round dogsbody! I am the Breed Correspondent (Groenendael) for 'Dog World' a job I have done on and off for around 10 years. I am fortunate to be passed to award CC's in the UK, judged the Speciality in Sweden, Czech. Republic, and look forward to judging in Australia 2008. Other than that I live much the same as everyone else, work, Belgians, friends - what more can a girl want!
